Polisi cyfethol

PENDERFYNWYD yn unfrydol dilyn gweithdrefnau tebyg i un etholiad lle mae pob ymgeisydd yn enwebu'r ward y maent am sefyll drosti cyn y cyfarfod cyfethol.

Byddai pleidleisio yn dilyn gweithdrefnau fel y nodwyd yng Ngweinyddiaeth Cyngor Lleol Arnold Baker:

• Pan fydd mwy na dau berson wedi'u henwebu ar gyfer swydd i'w llenwi gan y Cyngor ac nad yw'r un o'r personau hynny wedi derbyn mwyafrif absoliwt o'r pleidleisiau o'u plaid, bydd enw'r person sydd â'r nifer lleiaf o bleidleisiau yn cael ei daro oddi ar y rhestr a phleidleisio o'r newydd. Bydd y broses hon yn parhau nes bod mwyafrif y pleidleisiau'n cael eu rhoi o blaid un person. Gellir setlo pleidlais gyfartal trwy bleidlais ddyfarnu gan gadeirydd y cyfarfod.

Co-option policy

Councillors unanimously RESOLVED to follow similar procedures to that of an election where all candidates nominate the ward for which they want to stand in advance of the co-option meeting.

Voting would follow procedures as stated in Arnold Baker’s Local Council Administration:

• Where more than two persons have been nominated for a position to be filled by the Council and none of those persons has received an absolute majority of votes in their favour, the name of the person having the least number of votes shall be struck off the list and a fresh vote taken. This process shall continue until a majority of votes is given in favour of one person. A tie in votes may be settled by the casting vote of the chairman of the meeting.
