Byddai’r allor a’r ffenestr liw yn aros ond byddai’r ffont a’r organ yn cael eu cymryd o’r Eglwys. Er nad oedd tynnu’r organ yn rhwystro’r pryniant, penderfynwyd, oherwydd ei gwerth hanesyddol, y dylai’r Cyngor ofyn i’r organ gael aros.

PENDERFYNWYD comisiynu arolwg gan fod wyth mlynedd wedi bod ers yr arolwg blaenorol.

The altar and stained glass window would remain but the font and organ would be removed from the church. Whilst the removal of the organ would not prevent the purchase, it was decided that due to its historic value the Council should request that it remain.

It was RESOLVED to commission a survey as there had been eight years since the previous survey.

Council OBJECTS because:

• It represents intensification of the town centre – with the loss of another family home
• The scale of the flats are too small to achieve quality of life for residents
• Loss of outside amenity space
• No provision for refuse storage
• No provision for bikes

The Council is of the opinion that the application would be a worse option than the current shop front. It represents an inappropriate development within a conservation area and is not in keeping with neighbouring buildings where there are good examples of restoration.

Council strongly OBJECTS and is of the opinion that:

• the loss of traditional features would be detrimental to the high street
• the stucco should be retained as the building design is coherent currently
• the windows should be sympathetic and as close to the original windows as possible as they are currently in keeping
• the dormer is too large
• pitch roofs are more in keeping with the area
• It represents intensification of the town centre with too many units crammed in –and the scale of the flats are too small to achieve quality of life for residents
• Loss of outside amenity space
• Problems associated with refuse storage etc

Nodwyd y dylai’r cyfeiriad strategol fod yn seiliedig ar yr adroddiad ymgynghori a dylid adolygu hyn mewn cyfarfod yn y dyfodol.

It was noted that the strategic direction should be based on the consultation report and this should be reviewed in a future meeting.

Esboniodd y Clerc, oherwydd cyfyngiadau ar blannu coed stryd, ym Mharc Ffordd y Gogledd oedd cyfle gorau’r Cyngor i gyflawni ei uchelgais i blannu cymaint o goed â phosibl.

Gellid plannu deg coeden fel y ddraenen wen flodeuog goch, castanwydden, cerddinen, coed ffrwythau – yn enwedig rhai Cymreig, ac o bosibl coeden sbesimen i goffáu bywydau coll oherwydd y pandemig.

PENDERFYNWYD ofyn am gyngor arbenigol er mwyn bwrw ymlaen â phlannu cyn y gwanwyn.

The Clerk explained that due to restrictions on street tree planting Council’s best opportunity to achieve its ambition to plant as many trees as possible was in North Road Park.

Potentially ten trees could be planted such as red flowering hawthorn, chestnut, whitebeam, fruit trees, especially Welsh varieties, and possibly a specimen tree to commemmorate lost lives due to the pandemic.

It was RESOLVED to seek expert advice in order to proceed with planting before the spring.

PENDERFYNWYD fynd allan i dendr i drawsnewid y darn hir o ardal balmantog rhwng y clwb bowlio a Pharc y Gogledd yn bam hir ar gyfer plannu. Yn ogystal â rhywfaint o blannu lluosflwydd ar gyfer strwythur a bioamrywiaeth, roedd y ffin yn ddigon mawr i ddarparu lleoedd tyfu ar gyfer y gymuned.

It was RESOLVED to go out to tender to transform the long stretch of paved area between the bowling club and North Road Park into a long border for planting.  In addition to some perennial planting for structure and biodiversity, the border was big enough to provide growing spaces for the community.

It was RESOLVED to utilise the existing structure (as above in 188.4) to provide growing spaces. This would encourage greater and more diverse use of the park.

It was also RESOLVED to introduce a wooden swing to encourage greater use by children.

Dog fouling and dog wear on the turf was an increasing problem. But it was felt that the situation should be assessed following the introduction of growing spaces, more trees and a swing as above.

Mynegwyd pryderon ynghylch lefelau cynyddol Covid ond PENDERFYNWYD gadw at y PENDERFYNIAD blaenorol i gadw Penparcau ar agor ond y ddau barc arall ar agor ar gyfer gwyliau’r ysgol yn unig.

Derbyniwyd ambell gwyn am y gwaith a wnaed ym Mhenparcau ond cytunwyd oherwydd tywydd y gaeaf y byddai’r parc yn cael ei adolygu ar ôl ychydig fisoedd.

Concerns were expressed about the increasing levels of Covid but it was RESOLVED to adhere to the previous RESOLUTION to keep Penparcau open but the other two parks open for the school holidays only.

Some complaints had been received about the work carried out in Penparcau but it was agreed that due to winter weather that the park would be reviewed after a few months.

Yn dilyn cwyn am y llochesi ym Mhenparcau roedd rhaglen adnewyddu yn cael ei chychwyn gyda gwaith wedi’i ledaenu ar draws y flwyddyn ariannol gyfredol a’r flwyddyn nesaf.

Following a complaint regarding shelters in Penparcau a refurbishment programme was being initiated with works spread across the current and next financial year.

It was RESOLVED to support the motion and to write to WG asking for it to become compulsory to get planning permission for converting a dwelling into a holiday home and to modify the policy framework to allow thresholds to set the maximum number of holiday homes in an area

It was RESOLVED to support the motion and to:

• support the strajk kobiet and the efforts of Polish people – in Poland and abroad – to protest the infringement of human rights
• affirm our support for the Polish community of Aberystwyth
• write to the Student Union to express our shared solidarity and a message of support for Polish students
• investigate any practical expressions of solidarity that can be undertaken within the remit of the Council, such as correspondence with equivalent bodies in Poland
• invite the Polish community of Aberystwyth to share their insights and suggestions for ways in which the Council might support these efforts

• Ceredigion County Council were hoping to resolve litter problems in the lanes around Greenfield St and Maesyrafon by only collecting refuse from the front of the houses.
