·         Llongyfarchwyd llwyddiant cyngerdd elusennol Nadolig y Maer, oedd wedi codi £920 i elusennau’r Maer, yr RNLI a HAHAV.

·         Estynnwyd llongyfarchiadau ar lwyddiant digwyddiad cynnau goleuadau Nadolig Aberystwyth, a welodd tua 3,000 o bobl yn bresennol. Diolchwyd i’r Cyng. Kerry Ferguson ac Emlyn Jones am eu hymdrechion i drefnu’r digwyddiad yn eu rôl arall fel aelodau o Fenter Aberystwyth.

·         Diolch i staff y Cyngor Tref am hwyluso digwyddiad cynnau goleuadau Nadolig Trefechan.

·         Congratulations were extended for the success of the Mayor’s Christmas charity concert, which had raised £920 for the Mayor’s charities, the RNLI and HAHAV.

·         Congratulation were extended for the success of the Aberystwyth Christmas light switch on event, which saw an estimated 3,000 people attending. Thanks were extended to Cllrs. Kerry Ferguson and Emlyn Jones for their efforts in organising the event in their other role as members of Menter Aberystwyth.

·         Thanks to the Town Council staff for facilitating the Trefechan Christmas light switch on event.

Mynegwyd pryderon ynghylch effaith weledol y sgip a osodwyd ger tŵr De’r castell y cafodd biniau sbwriel eu gwagio ynddo. Ystyriwyd opsiynau i leihau ei effaith weledol, megis defnyddio biniau gwastraff mawr yn lle, addurno’r sgip neu ei amgáu gyda ffens a fyddai’n gweddu i’r ardal.

Staff i ymchwilio ymhellach a dyfeisio cynnig.

Concerns were raised over the visual impact of the skip installed near the castle’s South tower that litter bins were emptied into. Options were considered to reduce its visual impact, such as using large waste bins instead, decorating the skip or enclosing it with fencing that would be in keeping with the area.

Staff to investigate further and devise proposal.

Roeddid yn dal i aros am ymateb ffurfiol i gynnig y Cyngor Tref gan Gyngor Sir Ceredigion, fodd bynnag gyda’r bwriad y gallai’r Cyngor Tref fod yn gyfrifol am doiledau’r Castell a Choedlan y Parc byddai angen ystyried y canlynol:

·         Oriau agor

o   Awgrymwyd 8yb tan 6yh.

o   Rhoddir ystyriaeth i newidiadau tymhorol i oriau, o ystyried y gallai fod angen i doiledau fod ar agor yn hirach yn ystod cyfnodau prysurach.

·         Ffioedd mynediad

o   Rhoddwyd ystyriaeth i gadw’r taliadau presennol, eu lleihau neu eu dileu’n gyfan gwbl.

·         Argyfyngau tu allan i oriau

o   Nodwyd y byddai angen darpariaeth ar alwad ar gyfer y toiledau i ymateb i unrhyw argyfyngau all godi y tu allan i oriau gwaith arferol.

·         Arwyddion

Hwn oedd y cyntaf o lawer o drafodaethau i’w cael ar reolaeth ymarferol toiledau cyhoeddus. I’w drafod ymhellach ar ôl derbyn ymateb gan Gyngor Sir Ceredigion.

Formal response to the Town Council’s proposal was still awaited from Ceredigion County Council, however with a view that the Town Council may be responsible for the Castle & Park Avenue toilets the following would need to be considered:

·         Opening hours

o   8am until 6pm was suggested.

o   Consideration would be given over seasonal changes to hours, considering that toilets may need to be open for longer during busier periods.

·         Entrance charges

o   Consideration was given as to whether to retain the current charges, reduce them or remove them altogether.

·         Out of hours emergencies

o   It was noted that there would need to be an on-call provision for the toilets to respond to any emergencies that could arise outside of normal working hours.

·         Signage

This was the first of many discussions to be had on the practical management of public toilets. To be discussed further on receipt of response from Ceredigion County Council.
