Whilst commending the efforts to conserve original features, the Town Council OBJECTS to the application because of the following:

 

  • The development represents cramming and overdevelopment of the site
  • There is no waste storage provision
  • There is no bike storage provision
  • Concerns regarding fire safety
  • Size of rooms
  • We question the market price value quoted in the affordability statement

 

The units should not be used as holiday lets.

The Town Council OBJECTS to the application because of the following:

 

  • The impact of additional traffic on a residential area and a route to school
  • The development represents cramming and overdevelopment of the site
  • The visual impact of the development on existing houses
  • Lack of parking for the number of proposed flats and the impact on a residential area
  • The provision of waste storage and bike storage is unclear

 

The development would benefit from:

 

  • Reducing the height by a storey
  • Reducing the height further by providing understore parking with charging points instead of the ground floor flats
  • Renewable energy
  • additional trees to restore some of the biodiversity on the site

 

The development should not be used for holiday accommodation.
